Life brings so many changes
as we live from year to year.
Some give us great joy;
others bring us many a tear.
We ask God to guide us,
and to help us to grow,
But then we hesitate to take the paths
He gives us to go.
Sometimes we just cannot understand
why the change must be,
or what it is we need to learn;
just what God wants us to see.
For His ways are not our ways,
and to our human mind
There was no need for the change;
things were going fine.
At times it is hard to accept the change,
as we struggle through the pain,
To remember it will work for good;
to know God will sustain.
We will probably never know
all the good that it has caused,
Or, without the change,
all the things we could have lost.
We forget that God knows it all,
and has since before time began,
That He is truly in control and, lovingly,
holds us in His hand.
