Served North End – 1953-1957
RC was born in 1918 in Kentucky. He started preaching at age 16 in
Detroit. He was married to Ginny Oliver and they had two children-
one a preacher. He served churches in five states and held gospel
meetings in at least 15 states. His only located work in West Virginia
was at North End from 1953-1957. While here he held a debate on
baptism at the City Park pavilion, with more that 2,000 present on the
last night. In 1965 he began teaching at Freed-Hardeman College.
He later came out of retirement to be North End’s assistant minister
in the 1990’s. He died in 1998 and is buried, along with his wife, at
Mt Olivet cemetery in Parkersburg.
