Served North End – 1968-1977
John was born in Marietta, Ohio in 1944 into a family of preachers. He was baptized at
age 12 and preached his first sermon at age 17. He received college degrees from
Lipscomb and Marshall. He and his wife, Pattie, have five children. John’s first work with
a West Virginia congregation was at North End in 1968. He encouraged and led us in
personal work evangelism. Our annual youth rallies were begun as well as his radio
program “Walking With The Master”. From 1977-1987 John ministered at the Norway
Ave. congregation in Huntington, WV. He moderated the television program “The Bible
Answers” on channel 13. In the 1970’s through the early 1990’s, John held at least a
dozen meetings in Wood County. He also conducted soul winning workshops and door
knocking campaigns. He and his family moved to Nashville, Tennessee to minister.
Since 1991, John has been president of the Church of Christ Disaster Relief, which has
received national recognition. Since 1999 he has lead the Adventures with Jesus
ministries. John is still preaching at age 80.
