Served North End – 1953-1957<\/p>\n
RC was born in 1918 in Kentucky. He started preaching at age 16 in
\nDetroit. He was married to Ginny Oliver and they had two children-
\none a preacher. He served churches in five states and held gospel
\nmeetings in at least 15 states. His only located work in West Virginia
\nwas at North End from 1953-1957. While here he held a debate on
\nbaptism at the City Park pavilion, with more that 2,000 present on the
\nlast night. In 1965 he began teaching at Freed-Hardeman College.
\nHe later came out of retirement to be North End\u2019s assistant minister
\nin the 1990\u2019s. He died in 1998 and is buried, along with his wife, at
\nMt Olivet cemetery in Parkersburg.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
