Ross was born in 1910 in Charleston, WV. He was baptized at age 24
\nand preached his first sermon at the Dunbar Church of Christ. He mar
\nried Verla two years later. He then went on to graduate from Freed
\nHardeman College. Before coming to North End, he was the located
\npreacher in South Charleston, Hamlin, St. Albans, Camden Ave., and
\nGrand Central. He helped establish the Ravenswood congregation. He
\ncame back for meetings in the 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s. One meeting had 22 re
\nsponses. He later preached in Missouri and Louisiana, finally retiring in
\nFlorida. He passed away in 1991. Ross was an encourager and a faith
\nful person. (I remember Ross, who baptized me, liked to joke that he
\ndisagreed with the apostle Paul who said not to associate with the
