Don was born in 1927 in Marmaduke, Arkansas. He preached his first sermon
\nthere at age 14. He graduated from christian colleges and received his doctorate
\ndegree from UCLA. He preached seven years in Abilene, Texas before going to
\nSouth Africa as a missionary. While there at least two churches were estab
\nlished. From 1954-1959 he preached in Tennessee and Pittsburgh, Pennsylva
\nnia. During this time he was a continuous writer in many of the leading church
\npublications. In 1960 he became the first president of Ohio Valley College. For
\nthe next three years he and Leon Matheny were associate preachers at North
\nEnd. He later served as president of Michigan Christian College, York College
\n(Nebraska), and Columbia Christian (Oregon). At his death in 1996 he was
\nworking for Oklahoma Christian College and was head of the National Christian
