Eddie was born in 1946 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of preacher, Denver
\nCooper. He preached at age 10 but his first \u201creal\u201d sermon was in 1963 at the
\nRosemar congregation. After attending Ohio Valley College he married a North
\nEnd girl, Barbara Buckley. Eddie and Barbara have two sons. In 1969 he got his
\ndegree in Bible from Abilene Christian College. Eddie\u2019s first located work was in
\nOhio, then to Fairmont\u2019s Oakwood Road congregation in West Virginia. The
\nfamily then moved back to Ohio to serve congregations at Sardis and for 15
\nyears with the Chillicothe church. The family moved to Barbara\u2019s home congre
\ngation in 1995 and served us until 2007. Eddie became known as the \u201cBear
\nMan\u201d as he delivered over 5,000 bears sewn together by North End ladies.
\nThese bears were taken to hospitals and care homes. Our new auditorium was
\nbuilt in 2004. In 2007 until his retirement in 2018, the Coopers were located with
\nthe church in St. Albans, West Virginia. Eddie has written many articles for
\nchurch periodicals and fills in the pulpit for several congregations as needed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
